BLAME IT ON.....

IGNORANCE, COMMON SENSE, NEGLIGENCE......and the train crushed into the 'kuffour bus'. Who do we blame it on: the train driver, the guy at the railway crossline or the bus driver?
Just at about 5:30pm on Thursday,26th May,2010, i logged on to myjoyonline.com and they had in one of their headlines 'Train shreds 'Kuffour bus'. Shreds paaa(this is exaggeration at its best). My friend Debrootz was stunned by the exaggeration(journalists should be wary because one day they might just give someone a heart attack)....
It was a very unfortunate incident that happened but I, Mabel Simpson blame the bus driver for his IGNORANCE and LACK OF COMMON SENSE. Yes, say i am a wicked soul but every driver or even every human being should at least be aware that you have no right to stop on  the rail way tracks be it that there is free flow of vehicles or 'go-slow'(bumper to bumper). At least we all know that the brakes of the train are not the same as that of the cars we drive in.(My friend Jeff says if a train is to stop at Tema, it has to apply its brakes at Circle)....lol...(but it is true)...
This is not the first time such an accident has occurred or will occur. Sometimes you wonder how people manage to obtain their driver's license. I do not blame them either. Blame it on the authorities. Even road signs i bet how many people who drive the so called flashy cars around and claim to be educated can read, understand and apply its meaning.
For me, the next time such an accident happens due to LACK OF COMMON SENSE, the driver's license should be withdrawn and he/she be banned from driving. It is time we had some discipline on our roads, the road carnage stopped so people can live.

I BLAME IT ON LACK OF COMMON SENSE......(We are humans and not perfect though)

FOR WHO?

Mbaa y33 som ooo...y33 som ama Awurade(Women,we are worshiping ooo...we are worshiping for God), Asomdwe...nka wo nso(Peace...Unto you too)....On Wednesday evenings at about 5:30pm you will spot them in town clad in their white t-shirts with a slit preferably a black and white one with a white scarf wrapped on on their head. Its Wednesday and time for another meeting. Meeting or Fellowship? Maybe both. They are the Women's Fellowship. One of the most respected groups in the church. They are mainly made up of the older generation but these days you'll find out that the youth(25yrs and above) are joining them.

My colleague Jeff says they are the 'mothers of the church' and Ellen, another colleague says the group is made up of matured women. True. They are the mothers of the church and certainly made up of matured women. But to me,one attribute they failed to add is that the group is made up of about 95% of hypocrites.Hypocrites,Yes,HYPOCRITES.

If you've ever had the chance of being in their midst, you'll know what i am talking about. Well, I have. These women meet in small groups after their 'fellowship' and guess what they discuss;their husbands, colleagues and their own church members. Yes,you will hear them talk about how their husbands have wronged them and how they the wives intend to punish them.

If you are a member of the church and one of them assumes you have wronged her, then sorry for you. You are going to receive the worst word abuse you have ever received in your life.

And Oh! They take it that a young lady trying to be fashionable is actually dressing inappropriately. Too bad. But lets ask ourselves,if the young lady lets assume has exposed her body or a husband has wronged/cheated on his wife or a church member has not done the right thing, comparing it to their gossip, who is unrighteous here? The young lady, the husband, the church member or the mbaa kuo(women's fellowship)? Maybe we have 'small sin' and 'big sin'. 'But all sin be sin?'

These are the mothers of the church. The ones who are supposed to lead exemplary  lifes so the younger generation can follow. But do they lead exemplary lifes? No! I think it is time members of the Women's fellowship changed their attitude otherwise i will push for them to be known as 'WOMEN GOSSIP CLUB'.

So now, let us ask ourselves, who are they worshiping for? For God, for the church or for themselves? ...FOR WHO?
